It was exactly one year ago that “Friday Design Faces“ was started. Being the inspiration junkies and community advocates that we are, Alex always talked about the idea of sharing and seeing “design faces”; discovering the people and personalities behind the designs that inspire us so. It was a great idea with a simple execution, a flickr set for designers to share their faces while they design each and every Friday – the thinking that most of us were at our most casual and creative on Fridays.
A year past and hundreds of design faces later, “Friday Design Faces” evolved from a fun idea to a really interesting insight to the talent behind the creativity. From young talent such as Matt Sanders and Andrew Cornett to industry super-stars such as Simon Collison and Keith Robinson, we get to see more than websites and book covers.
Join the fun, take a “Friday Design Face” photo, upload it to flickr and join the group! All faces are accepted: happy faces, sleepy faces, frustrated with IE6 faces and even the infamous Patrick Haney drinking faces.
It’s Friday! Check out today’s Design Faces: http://www.flickr.com/groups/designfaces/

This is a really cool concept and a great way to share your frustration or silliness for the day.
Also, Thanks for includ’ing me in this post guys.

It did turn out to be really fun. Some days you show off your emotions and some days you just go nuts!
We sort of had to include you — it’s an Oklahoma thing. Love that state!

I absolutely love the Friday Design Faces! It’s something to look forward to. You guys are great at community and I’m happy to even be partially involved from all the way over here on the west coast. :)

Thanks for participating; it is really fun thing to look forward too — to see what people submit each week. Gives some personality back to the community.
