We’ve been working with the team at Mashable on some exciting initiatives. While we can’t talk about everything we’re doing just yet, we are excited to share what we can as the pieces start to roll out. Today we push live a redesigned mobile optimized experience for Mashable.com. Get out your iPhone and check it out!

This is an exceptionally exciting launch for us as we are fanatics of working with mobile user-interface design and development, especially in the context of online-based publications. The more we work on native mobile applications, the more we strive to bring that experience to the mobile web, as much as possible.

The objectives were simple: be unique, stylish, functional and strive to keep the user-interface in-line with the existing brand interface while reducing load time as much as possible. We designed and developed with the iPhone in mind; it being the most advanced device with respect to interactions as well as significantly by far the most popular device. But we accounted for and degraded the experience appropriately to deliver a similar and rich experience for users of advanced devices such as the Droid and Palm Pre.

While we love advancing technology, we’re still a best-practices group; so in addition to the developing for advanced mobile devices we’ve also instituted a WAP based theme for WAP devices as well as smart phones utilizing more deprecated or less than optimal browsers.

Look for more upcoming collaborations between ourselves and the Mashable team and some very exciting mobile initiatives we are working on with Politico as well as The Washington Post!

Oh yeah, one more thing! We’ll be announcing the latest addition to our team at our Holiday Party next week. He’ll be joining the team as a Senior Developer and be leading our iPhone native application development as well as being an integral part of our web/mobile application development. You are all invited and we hope you can make it out, enjoy some eggnog, laugh at some ugly sweaters and say hello to the newest member of the nclud team! Thanks guys! It was an exciting project for sure—really excited with how Mike was able to replicated the horizontal sliding navigation that is so commonly found on native iPhone apps.
